Poetry from Stoke On Trent. The various verses within this blog explore my changing reality and mood swings. Verses that meander around domestic violence, self harm and mania, then return to enjoy happier thoughts and emotions from my childhood and the local area and its fantastic history and heritage. This is truly subversive and thought provoking literature from the heart of England that will live with you forever.

Pit shaft Demon
Down in the dimlight mineshift troll
Hiding in the shadows all on his own
He came out to steal your childrens souls
They called him raw head bloodied bones
This poem is based on Staffordshire folk-lore of the raw head bloody bones demon. it is believed to have originated from parents inventing a creature to keep their children from playing near to the many dangerous minshafts that were left over from the intensive mining of North Staffordhshire.
