FEEDBACK FROM READERS - ECHOES OF PAIN

Elisia Green - Stoke On Trent - I think a lot of people would appreciate your words who have been through something similar but haven't managed to find an outlet.

Ian Deaville - Lightwood, Newcastle - I have read your book this morning from end to end. Great book and I hope there is a follow up. Congratulations on a really interesting incite into your world.

Mrs Bebbington - Newcastle - It's quite remarkable that you have managed to growup at all. No one has a perfect life and we all have our own demons, but what you children and others like you have gone through should never happen to anyone.

Mrs Bithell - Burslem - Stoke On Trent - Some very late nights reading this book ..... could not put it down. Fantastic book if you've not got a copy order one now, plus get a big box of tissues ! congratulations Steve I cant wait for book 2 :)
Steve Dean - Perth - Australia  -  'Echoes of Pain' is a sobering insight into a nightmare world that is evidently far more commonplace than most people care to contemplate.
Anon- Stoke On Trent -  Hi Steve. I've just finished your book 'Echoes of Pain'. I found it a thoroughly entertaining read, despite its almost continuously harrowing contents, and I have to say that I have nothing but admiration for your unquestionable courage and resilience during the years you describe. It is ...

Phil Maskery - Biddulph -
Stoke On Trent -  It had a great pace about it, and his descriptive skills about Stoke on Trent and the surrounding areas were brilliant. He built up a brilliant picture about family life in the Harvey household.

Val Maskery - Biddulph  - Stoke On Trent -  I have both just read your book. We are both extremely impressed and thought it was very, very, very good indeed.

DJ Sweet Jayne - Hanley - Stoke On Trent -  It was emotional. I look forward to seeing it in book form. Congratulations doesn't seem entirely appropriate but you get my drift. Respect
Mrs Jayne Flint - Burslem - Stoke On Trent - 'I couldn't put the book down'
Anon - Tunstall - You are so brave to have put it out there, to have relived it and to
have not driven yourself insane, well done I hope it does really well.
I think it is important that we stand up to the bullies and abusers and
take back our lives. Well done mate, can't wait to get my hands on a
copy xx
Trudi Massey - Tunstall - I would like to say it is brilliant but that is an understatement. Your portrayal of life is very real and enabled me to picture things easily. I have to say that it has stayed in my mind all day and I expect I will continue to mull things over for some time.I admire you for becoming the man that you are.
Katie May Bloor - Stoke On Trent - That's ace! Book kicked ass! I read it in one night. Save me a copy of next one, tar!'
Lyndene Jayne Malpass - Stanfields, Tunstall - It's such a compelling read and a must for anyone who likes and appreciates a frank, well written book that takes a glimpse into the life of a local man and the life defining moments that he experienced in his childhood Thanks for sharing this with us.

Tina Dawson - Burslem -  I recommend to all to buy a copy of Steve's book xx

Room in the roof writers - Wedgwood College  - thanks for popping over last night, your work was (as I said) amazingly vivid and the imagery just made me feel as though I was there watching everything that was happening. I think it is quite an ordeal to write about ones life, especially when it is not what is usually the 'norm'.
Perhaps you could contact Children in Need with your story?

Tina Dav Dawson - Burslem -  I've just read your book, i just couldn't put it down. It was upsetting and i'm amazed that the lively witty and funny lad at school had to suffer like you did.

Patricia Ann Jackson - Chesterton - Well done Steve

Pete and Theresa - Smallthorne - Congratulations

Wendy Bithell - Burslem - If you haven't read this book yet you should get one. It's a brilliant read.

Jane - Norton le Moors - Just want to congratulate you on this book.

I work with, and am a close friend of your sister  and have wanted to understand some of what your family have been through so that I might be able to support Dawn better.

It was an incredible insight, written so honestly and openly. I hope that writing and publishing the book has helped you in your own healing process.

It is so wonderful the way that you have come out the other side so strong and broken the chain of abuse.

You truly are an inspiration to us all, that we are in charge of our own destiny and it's not about the journey it's the destination that is important.

All the very best wishes and looking forward to reading your future work.

Julie Walton - Smallthorne - Brilliantly written and very inspirational. thank you

Poetry from Stoke On Trent. The various verses within this blog explore my changing reality and mood swings. Verses that meander around domestic violence, self harm and mania, then return to enjoy happier thoughts and emotions from my childhood and the local area and its fantastic history and heritage. This is truly subversive and thought provoking literature from the heart of England that will live with you forever.
