Poetry from Stoke On Trent. The various verses within this blog explore my changing reality and mood swings. Verses that meander around domestic violence, self harm and mania, then return to enjoy happier thoughts and emotions from my childhood and the local area and its fantastic history and heritage. This is truly subversive and thought provoking literature from the heart of England that will live with you forever.

Blue Bell Woods - Stephen Harvey
An acrostic poem written after a summer stroll down the Trent and Mersey canal in Staffordshire. This poem is available printed in full colour and framed for £5 inc FREE postage in the UK
Forever I will recall
A summer stroll in Stoke
In Blue Bell Wood beside the cut
Resided little folk
I caught a glimpse so briefly
Each one with wings of gold
Sat upon a buttercup
In sunshine bright and bold
Now many think it’s wishful
But I know that it’s true
Underneath the willow branch
Reveals a world of few
So pause and look around you
Let imagination bloom
Each and every fairy tale
May live next door to you
By Stephen Harvey
Blue Bell Woods is a fictional name for a small wood alongside the Trent and Mersey canal near to Burslem, the historic heart of the pottery industry. A truly magical place that is the ideal place to spot fairies.
